Medical necessity.

Children infected with HIV / AIDS are treated as outlaws in Nepal and lead a life on the fringes of society in extreme poverty. Orphanages for children infected with HIV receive next to no medical support from the state. Since 2012 we have been bringing bandages, ointments and plasters as often as possible, and we have contributed financially to cushion the high costs of antiretroviral combination therapy for the children.

Supply where there is no other:  In addition to the very poor living conditions in the most remote regions of Nepal and the lack of medical care (the nearest medical facilities are usually hours away from the village), clean water is also a major shortage. We provide the villagers with urgently needed medicines, hygiene articles and water. Disinfectants. In 2015 alone, during the earthquake, we were able to provide around 1,500 people with essentials by setting up central support points.

Individual fates that move:  A man from the farthest reaches of remote Dolpo had to go too long without medical care. The too distant and far too expensive hospital in Kathmandu was out of reach for him. When his pain became unbearable after years, he decided to undertake the arduous 9-day journey. The doctors diagnosed a widespread spread of a tumor. The complete removal of the entire eye was the result. We supported this man and bore 2/3 of the entire operation and follow-up treatment costs.
